Wescott Library Gets 12 Foot High Generator Enclosure

June 15, 2017

Project Overview

Just this past winter, Century Fence installed chain link fencing for the Wescott Library located in Eagan, Minnesota. The building has a generator in the back parking lot in need of perimeter fencing. The generator was a potential hazard to its visitors and an eyesore taking away from the aesthetics of the building. In order to fix their situation, they knew Century Fence would be able to help!

Requests From Businesses

The front of the Wescott Library is an open area with benches welcoming guests into the main facility. However, in the back entrance of the building, they have a large generator with a potential liability since it was not properly protected from the public. In order to have better safety precautions they contacted Century Fence to provide an enclosure around the generator. In conjunction with eliminating a potential hazard, adding fencing also enhanced the aesthetics of the property.

Our Solution

When the idea of fencing was brought up, chain link fencing with slats was proposed as a cost effective solution. Century Fence installed a 12 foot high enclosure to completely cover the generator from view to the public. The specifications of the chain link include: 2” mesh, 9 gauge galvanized wire, and galvanized steel line posts. Additionally, you will notice bollards surrounding the enclosure. Brackets were custom made to attach the bollards with the line posts to secure the erection of the 12 foot high enclosure.

Final Results

Once we successfully installed the enclosure, the backyard of Wescott Library was not only safer but also more appealing to the landscape of the entire facility.
